The Original Bike Rack

Functional. Minimal. And most importantly, affordable.

A perfect way to display and store your bike in your apartment, room, or common area without taking up much space. Use it as a shelf and put books on top, a lamp, or even your riding gear. The original design is our first bike rack, the slimmest, and the most affordable.

Measuring at 12x12x4.5in, this rack can accommodate most, if not all bike sizes. The opening is 2in tall so it will fit even the beefiest of road bikes and mountain bikes. The width of the rack will no longer interfere with cable holders either. Making this a great alternative to ugly bike hooks to hang up your bike.

I use high quality Birch and Cedar that is domestically grown and produced from sustainable forests. The supplier I use is a Certified Green Dealer, as well as Rainforest Alliance Certified. So you can feel good about this purchase knowing it came from a great source that cares about the environment.

To make sure your handlebars will clear the wall, measure the distance from the right side of your top tube, to the end of your handlebars. If it is less than 10″ (every bike I’ve seen is), your good! If it isn’t accomodations can be made for an additional fee.

The ideal mounting situation is in a single stud. This utilizes (2) 5/16 x 4 1/2 bolts mounted vertically to provide an extremely stable hold. However, if the space you want to use doesn’t have a stud in the middle, a stud bolt in the side with a heavy duty dry wall anchor on the other will work as well. That is how the shelf in the picture is mounted and it shows zero signs of budging and I have cheap drywall.
