About Elevate

Elevate Woodworks started after I built my first bike rack and showed it to a friend.

“you should totally sell these.” she said.

I wasn’t sure if it was something people would want to purchase, much less like. After some research, and a few revisions to my original design I decided to sell them and market them towards people like me. People who lived in smaller spaces, wanted an easy way to not only store their bikes, but display them.

Utilizing affordable, sustainable materials and an efficient assembly process, I can offer the Elevate bike rack at an extremely reasonable price, thus making it much more accessible than other racks on the market. After the original elevate bike rack had been featured on such design sites as Apartment Therapy, Design Sponge, Locked Cog, Cool Hunting, Better Living Through Design, and multiple blogs I had received a few emails asking to build the racks in higher quality woods.  I now build the Elevate Bike Rack in Walnut and Poplar. These beautiful woods are a great option and are affordable as well.

Customer service is my number one concern.  Each transaction is processed by me. Each piece of wood is thoroughly inspected and picked by me. Each rack is built by me in my garage. And each rack is packaged and shipped by me. I want to make sure that you are happy throughout the entire process and any and all questions or concerns have been answered in a professional and timely manner. I strive to make you smile when you open the package, and every time you see your bike displayed in your home.

As Elevate continues to grow I strive to make sure customer satisfaction is always 100%. The reason I continue to build bike racks is the feeling I get when someone emails me that they love their rack, and their friends asked where they got it. Or the satisfaction of knowing that something I built is being displayed in spaces around the world.

Very nice looking rack that will complement my home. One criticism if you don’t mind: Your description of the dimensions of the rack is not confusing, but your description of handlebar sizes that the rack will accomodate is. What is the widest bar that the rack will accomodate. My bars are 19 inches at their widest. Will this fit your rack without hitting the wall?

    • Sorry for any confusion I may have caused. What I mean by 9″ minimum is that the distance from the most inside of the notch to the wall is 9″. So if the distance from the inside of the frame that will be closest to the wall to the end of your handlebar is 9Inches or less you will not hit the wall. However, you can put the bike a little further out of the notch if need be. So that makes the distance from the wall about 9-10 inches.

I have my bike on a rack that has a 18″ wide bars overall. However the inside of the frame to the end of the handle bar measures 9 inches and I have no issues what so ever, and that is a fairly generic road bike handlebar.

      Hope this helps!

    Hi,

My handlebars are 23.5 inches end-to-end, 11″ from the edge of the top tube to the tip of the handlebar. Will my bike fit in your rack?

    Thanks!

  5. I’m an editor working on a large coffee-table book on bicycle design tentatively titled Ultimate Bike Design, due to be published by teNeues in spring 2012, and we’d like to feature your bike rack!

Please contact me if you are interested in inclusion. If so, we will likely dedicate one page of the 220 page book to your product, and as such will require from you color correct artwork (ideally the art files should be 300 dpi at 20 x 12 2/3 in./ 50 x 32 cm, or 6,000 x 3780 pixels, in order to show it on a full page) in TIFF or JPEG format. We will also need the model specifications as well as the copyright and credit lines.

Our books are sold worldwide to over 70 countries, and the bicycles that we are featuring will be representing many different countries and are being considered for their aesthetics and craftsmanship, and often their good reputation. We believe that your bicycle model would compliment the collection of bicycles that we are representing and hope that you’ll agree. If so, I will follow up with a release form and we will submit the layout pages showing your bicycle for your review before printing.
